Global Navigation System Compatibility: The MG-A01 GNSS module supports major global navigation systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. Utilizing the latest technology, it can receive signals from up to 32 satellites simultaneously, providing users with precise and reliable global positioning services.

High-Speed Navigation Update Rate: Thanks to the special version of the u-blox 10th generation chip—M10050, this module achieves a high navigation update rate of 10Hz, updating position information 10 times per second. This feature makes the MG-A01 ideal for applications in dynamic and rapidly changing environments, such as drone flight and high-speed motion tracking.

Built-In High-Gain Antenna: The built-in 25 x 25 x 4mm high-gain antenna provides superior signal reception capability for the module. This ensures optimal performance in challenging environments, whether in densely urban areas or in natural settings with dense coverage.

Power-Off Parameter Saving: The MG-A01 is equipped with built-in flash memory that can save user settings even when the module is powered off. This means users do not need to reconfigure each time, enabling plug-and-play functionality, significantly enhancing user experience and module convenience.

Wide Flight Control System Compatibility: Compatible with a variety of mainstream flight control software, including INAV, Betaflight, Ardupilot, and PX4. This ensures that the MG-A01 can be easily integrated into a wide range of flight platforms and projects, meeting a broad array of application requirements.

Ease of Integration Design: The module features a compact design (25 x 25 x 7.8 mm) and lightweight (12g), highlighting its ease of integration. Additionally, we provide a downloadable link for the 3D-printed GPS mount file, allowing users to easily print and install the mount according to their needs.

Introduction

  • MG-A01(M10 Ultra) GNSS module integrates a special version of u-blox 10th generation receiver chip – M10050, which run with higher frequency than normal, and the magnetic sensor – QMC5883L. It supports all L1 GNSS signals (GPS/GLONASS/Galieo/BeiDou) and can use up to 32 satellites simultaneously for navigation.
  • The high-gain 25 x 25 x 4mm patch antenna provides the best performance.
  • Built-in flash, parameters can still be saved when module lost power.

Why M10 Ultra

As we all know, M10 is the latest generation of GNSS receiver, with higher startup speed, positioning accuracy, and more satellites. But at the same time, M10 (5Hz) sacrifices the navigation update rate compared to M8 (10Hz) and M9 (25Hz). In order to solve this problem, we integrated an Ultra version of the M10 chip into MG-A01, which runs with a higher frequency, make it possible to achieve 10Hz navigation update rate while using 32 satellites.

In order to solve the problem of unstable navigation update rate of M10, the developer team of ardupilot forcibly limited the number of satellite by turning off BeiDou B1L and GLONASS. In fact, they could choose to use the M10 Ultra without making any changes.
