Overview
The MicoAir TRS combines your radio control link and telemetry data link in one 2.4GHz LoRa system — one TX module in your radio, one 2.5 g receiver on the aircraft, and a single encrypted FHSS link carrying both your stick inputs (up to 150 Hz) and bidirectional MAVLink telemetry (up to 8 KB/s) at the same time.
A conventional long-range build needs two separate radio systems: an RC link (like ELRS) plus a dedicated telemetry radio. That means two receivers, two antennas, and two frequency plans that can interfere with each other. The TRS folds both jobs into one link — no 2.4GHz self-interference problem, less weight, simpler wiring.
The receiver outputs SBUS for control and a serial MAVLink telemetry stream, so it works with any ArduPilot or PX4 flight controller (Pixhawk and others). Your ground station connects through the TX module — including wirelessly from an Android phone running QGroundControl over built-in Bluetooth, with no cable to your radio.
Features
- RC + telemetry in a single 2.4GHz link — replaces a separate RC system and telemetry radio
- LoRa spread spectrum + encrypted FHSS frequency hopping for strong anti-interference performance
- TX module transmit power up to 27dBm (500mW); receiver up to 27dBm (500mW), self-adaptive
- 10–15 km effective range in open, interference-free conditions (farther with a high-gain directional antenna on the TX module)
- RC update rate up to 150 Hz; telemetry throughput up to 8 KB/s bidirectional
- Built-in Bluetooth — connect QGroundControl on Android wirelessly
- OLED display on the TX module showing work mode, power and link status at a glance
- NANO module bay — fits compact OpenTX/EdgeTX radios (RadioMaster Pocket, Jumper T-Pro, etc.); JR-bay radios via a JR→NANO adapter
- Ultra-light 2.5 g receiver with SBUS out + telemetry serial port
Work Modes
Three modes trade range against control rate and data rate:
| Mode | Telemetry rate | RC update rate | Serial baud | Range |
| Long-range | 2.4 KB/s | 50 Hz | 57600 | ★★★ |
| Standard | 4 KB/s | 100 Hz | 57600 | ★★ |
| High-speed | 8 KB/s | 150 Hz | 115200 | ★ |
Long-range mode suits cruising wings and mappers; high-speed gives the snappiest stick feel and fastest parameter transfers. The receiver adopts the matching baud rate automatically after re-binding — just set your flight-controller port to match.
Specifications
Link
- Band: 2.4GHz ISM (LoRa spread spectrum + encrypted FHSS)
- TX module power: up to 27dBm (500mW); Receiver: up to 27dBm (500mW), self-adaptive
- RSSI: written to SBUS channel 12 — no extra RSSI wire needed
- Range: 10–15 km open conditions; 3–5 km with light interference, unobstructed
- RC output protocol: SBUS
Physical
- TX module: 76.8 × 40 × 18.7 mm, 32 g
- Receiver: 24 × 18.2 × 5.8 mm, 2.5 g
Binding
The receiver LED shows link status: solid = linked, slow blink = not connected, fast blink = binding mode.
- Step 1: Hold the receiver's bind button and power it on — the LED blinks rapidly (binding mode).
- Step 2: Power on (or power-cycle) the radio with the TX module installed — the pair binds automatically within a few seconds and the LED goes solid.
